Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom and prosperity. It's prevalent in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The festival typically lasts for 10 days, starting on the fourth day of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada (August- September). During this time, people bring home or set up clay idols of Ganesha in public spaces, where prayers and cultural events occur. The festival concludes with the immersion of these idols in water, symbolizing Ganesha's return to his divine home. In 2024, Ganesh Chaturthi begins on Friday, the 6th of September, with the main celebrations continuing into Saturday, the 7th of September. The final day of Visarjan (immersion) will be on Sunday, 15th September.
